Judicial Review Appeal Decision

⚠️⚠️ On Friday 22nd, THE JUDGMENT was handed down from the COURT of APPEAL, and we are SORRY to SHARE the NEWS that it went AGAINST Suffolk Energy Action Solutions. We will need to study the reasons for the decision and then consider if we can apply to the Supreme Court.

WE are RESOLVED TO CONTINUE THE BATTLE to STOP NATIONAL GRID ’s NEEDLESSLY DESTRUCTIVE PLANS. RESOLVED to get National Grid and other key stakeholders to STEP UP to the TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES currently available, using POOLED WIND ENERGY, OFFSHORE PLATFORMS and EXISTING brownfield sites CLOSER to LONDON, such as GRAIN.

Our North Sea neighbours, BELGIUM, HOLLAND, and DENMARK are powering ahead, and it’s time for Britain to pivot to offshore solutions.

OFGEM has RECOGNISED the WAY FORWARD in their report published on 1 March 2024 regarding Offshore Hybrid Assets (OHAs). OHA’s are offshore platforms where wind farms and interconnectors can pool energy, as we have been pushing for in our offshore grid solutions. Ofgem acknowledge the benefits and highlight the reduced cost to consumers – on page 19 it states:

“it is expected that OHAs could play an important role in enabling the development of offshore renewables in the context of increasingly crowded seas and supply chain constraints, reducing the number of assets required to connect generation, and consequently reducing investment costs and societal impacts..”

We may be DISAPPOINTED, BUT we are MORE DETERMINED than ever.

This is a technology-led revolution, and National Grid’s plans are outdated. ⚠️⚠️
